One of Alexis's proudest accomplishments this year was successfully navigating one of her most challenging academic years yet. Despite taking five AP classes and facing moments when she wanted to quit, she stayed focused, continued giving
her best effort, and finished the
year with all A's.
For Alexis, WEMN has provided a supportive community that helps her grow as both a student and a person. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue learning through WEMN while eventually helping future mentees discover their own paths to success.
Her advice to fellow mentees?
Find something you love and stick with it. Remember what you've learned through WEMN and let it guide you - not just to success, but to becoming a better person.

Circle, Jude found more than mentorship - she found a community of diverse, driven women who encouraged her to be herself, pursue her goals, and dream bigger.
One of Jude's proudest accomplishments this year was earning an A in both College Algebra and College Finite, proving that hard work and persistence pay off. Through WEMN, she built meaningful friendships, connected with inspiring mentors, and gained confidence from being surrounded by young women who are actively pursuing their own aspirations.
Jude's advice to future mentees is simple: You can absolutely do it. It may seem hard, but keep pushing yourself and surround yourself with people who push you too.
As she begins her college journey, Jude hopes to stay connected to the friendships she has built through WEMN and continue strengthening the bond with her mentors for years to come.

As a member of WEMN's inaugural mentee class, Chandler Perry continues to embody what it means to Honor, Empower, and Rise. For Chandler, WEMN is more than a mentorship program - it's a community of women who are always in her corner, providing support, encouragement, and opportunities for growth.
Since joining WEMN in 2024, Chandler has built meaningful relationships, expanded her network, and even secured an internship through connections made within the organization. Today, she continues to give back by supporting WEMN's social media presence and content strategy while gaining real-world experience through her work with mentor Twilla Brooks' consultant group, Lynette Create and Innovate (LCI).
As she continues her studies at the University of Arkansas, Chandler hopes to help future generations of mentees navigate their own journeys with confidence and community.

Creative, curious, and community-driven, Adala Makhulo is building a career at the intersection of storytelling, culture, and impact. As a founding member of WEMN's EmpowHER Crew for early careerists, she views mentorship as an investment in her future - a space to learn, grow, exchange ideas, and connect with women who inspire her to think bigger.
Currently based in Seattle, Adala works with both Jack Morton Worldwide and the Seattle Black Film Festival, where she
helps elevate experiences, stories, and opportunities that bring communities together. Over the past year, one of her proudest accomplishments was receiving a grant to develop, write, and produce her next film project, collaborating with fellow Black creatives to bring an important story to life.
Adala credits WEMN with connecting her to a powerful network of women who encourage growth, confidence, and collaboration. Her advice for younger mentees? You don't need to have all the answers after high school. Stay curious, keep learning, and trust that each experience is preparing you for what's next.
Looking ahead, Adala hopes to remain connected to WEMN for years to come - not only as a mentee, but eventually as a mentor helping the next generation of women pursue their dreams.

A Night of Reflection, Recognition, & Rising Stars
WEMN CELEBRATES OUR 2026
HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES
On Thursday, May 28, WEMN proudly hosted its inaugural Rising Star Reception at the DoubleTree by Hilton Bentonville, celebrating the accomplishments of our 2026 HerEmpower graduates. Eight of our ten graduating mentees attended alongside their parents, mentors, and WEMN supporters to mark this special milestone and recognize the hard work, perseverance, and leadership they have demonstrated throughout their time in the program.
The evening featured heartfelt reflections from mentees as they shared their WEMN experiences, lessons learned, personal growth, and excitement for the college journeys ahead. Through mentorship, leadership development, and meaningful connections, these young women have built confidence, strengthened their goals, and prepared for the next chapter of their educational and professional journeys.
As part of the celebration, each graduate received a certificate of completion and a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of her achievements and commitment to personal growth. Mentors also connected with parents, highlighting WEMN's mission, programming, and ongoing commitment to supporting young women as they continue to Honor, Empower, and Rise.
We are especially proud of the outstanding colleges and universities our graduates will attend this fall across the country, including the University of Arkansas, Hendrix College, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Cornell University, University of Kansas, and Vanderbilt University. Their acceptance into these respected institutions reflects not only their academic excellence but also their dedication, leadership, and determination to pursue their dreams.
The Rising Star Reception served as both a celebration of accomplishments and a launch point for future success. As these young women begin their college careers, WEMN remains committed to supporting them beyond high school. We are especially excited to continue following their journeys as they become our founding cohort to launch HerRise Collective this fall, creating new opportunities for connection, mentorship, growth, and support as they take their next steps.
Congratulations to our 2026 HerEmpower graduates. We look forward to watching each of them thrive as they make their mark on campuses, communities, and careers across the nation. Their futures are bright, and this is only the beginning of what promises to be an extraordinary journey.
